What does “Peace” mean to you? How do you think we can create a peaceful society? Young people in Junior High Schools from around the country are invited to reflect on these questions and enter the 2020 National Peace Essay Contest organized by DeeDee Global Ltd in collaboration with National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) and Ghana Education Service (GES). The annual Essay Contest is organized in an effort to utilize the dynamism, creativity and initiative of the Ghanaian youth in promoting a culture of peace and sustainable development. It aims to motivate society to learn from the young minds and to think about how each of us can make a difference in the world. The topic for this year’s contest is “Dec 2020 General Elections; the future of Ghana is in my hands”. Partisan election is an important requirement for our democratic practice. However, electoral violence has caused deadly conflicts in many African countries such as Liberia, Sierra Leon, Rwanda, Angola, Burkina Faso just to mention a  few. Students from Junior High Schools across Ghana are encouraged to participate in the 2020 Essay Contest.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”REQUIREMENTS” tab_id=”1580798063085-89d35fa1-6e0a”][vc_column_text]Number of words: Not more than 500 (Five Hundred) words. Language: Essay must be written in English Language. Submission date: Duration for submitting essay is from 20th Feb 2020 – 20th Mar 2020 Eligibility: Any Ghanaian JHSstudent as at deadline date is eligible to apply. Number of Rounds: There shall be three rounds of participation.
